Kathina 2019 ceremony will be held on 9th and 10th of November at the Kentucky buddhist vihara. We cordially invite you to participate and contribute to the event to make it a success.
Schedule of the event
November 9th Saturday 2019, 5pm to 10pm and Whole Night
05.00pm - 07.00pm - The lord Buddha’s holy relics exhibition
07.00pm - 08.00pm - Special 28 Buddhas offerings
08.00pm - Special whole night "pirith" chanting
10:00pm - Refreshments and tea for monks and nuns. The chanting will continue until next day morning thereafter.
November 10th Sunday 2019, 7am to 3pm
07.00am - 08.00am - Breakfast (Dana) offerings for monks and nuns
09.00am - 10.00am - The lord Buddha’s holy relics exhibition
10:00am - 10.30am - Pindapata for estimated 15 monks and nuns
11:00am - 11.30am - Buddha Pooja (offering for the Buddha and the holly order)
11.30am - 12.30pm - Lunch for monks and nuns
12.30pm - 01.30pm - Lunch for all
01.30pm - 02.30pm - Kathina (Chivara) Robes procession and offering
02.30pm - 03.00pm - Dhamma talks and blessing for all
03:00pm Cultural show and end of ceremony
