”KATHINA” – ROBES OFFERING CEREMONY 2022

Dear friends and devotees, Annual Kathina ceremony at the Kentucky Buddhist Vihara will be held at Kentucky Buddhist temple on 22nd and 23rd of October. 
  • 22nd October (Saturday) - 05:00pm - 10:00pm (Special pirith chanting event)
  • 23rd October (Sunday) - 09:00am - 03:00pm (Kathina celebration)

“Dansala” – Foods for attendees, offerings for the 28 Buddhas, special chanting and giving blessings for all. (There will be about 15 monks and nuns for this special chanting. If you want your special items (Buddha statues, healing crystals, meditation prayer beads etc..)to be blessed, bring them to the temple earlier

Kathina Day - Special day for offerings. Alms round ("Pindapatha"), robes offering ceremony. “Dansala” – foods for attendees, Kathina parade, dhamma talks, "pirith" chanting and giving blessings

If you would like to sponsor robes, alms, or other gifts for monks and nuns, or if you would like to invoke blessings to you, to your family or to loved ones, and in memory of your departed loved ones, please call or write to the temple

If you would like, you may support this event by sponsoring for gifts for monks and nuns. You can make any contribution according to your ability and take part in this great offering.

We are expecting around 15 monks and nuns for the event from around the country representing different traditions. You may bring suitable vegetarian foods, drinks, and gifts offerings for monks, nuns and to share with others.
