In celebration of the new year 2023 a special program will be held at the temple. Practice generosity, morality, meditation, and offer for the great seven Buddhas and for Maha Sangha.

You may bring food items, drinks and other offerings for Buddha, monks and to share with others.

You may also sponsor for the daily Dana offerings program, temple utility expenses, daily expenses (traveling, gas, medical, office supplies and temple maintenance), robes, Pirikara, and Puja items for the special events. Kentucky Meditation center and Buddhist Vihara is conducting a special "Dhana, Seela Bhavana" program practicing generosity, morality and meditation to celebrate the November full moon (Il Põya Day).

Date: 27th November (Sunday) 2002 from 07:00AM to 03:00PM

The even will consists Observing precepts, offering to the Buddha and monks, Dhamma sermon, meditation, chanting, sharing blessings and merits

බිනර පොහොය මුල්කොට ගෙන පැවැත්වෙන විශේෂ දාන, සීල,  භාවනා වැඩසටහන සැප්තැම්බර් 29 (ඉරිදා) උදෑසන  10:30 සිට සවස  4:00 දක්වා පැවැත්වේ. 

  • විශේෂ ආශීර්වාද, දාන,සීල, භාවනා, වැඩසටහන සහ බුද්ධ පූජාව. 
  • ඉරිදා දහම් පාසල
  • අට විසි බුද්ධ පූජාව

There will be a special program on September 29 (Sunday) from 10.30 am to 4.00 pm to celebrate the "Binra Poya" 2019. 

Program description

10:30am – 12:00pm Offering Special milk rice and other items for the 07 Great Buddhas, Dhamma talk, sharing merits & blessings, (Dana) lunch for monks.
12:00pm – 01:00pm Lunch for others.
01:00pm - 03:00pm Sunday Dhamma school for kids
03:00pm - 04:00pm 28 Buddhas offerings, (if you like you my sponsor for the each Buddha for invoke blessings and sharing merits for you and your loved ones)

You are welcome to participate for the entire program or for part of it. Please wear suitable and comparable clothing for the program. you are welcome to sponsor the event. Sri Lankan New Year Celebration 2018

On behalf of the Kentucky Buddhist Vihara we wish all our friends and well-wishers a very Happy Sinhala and Tamil New Year and cordially invite you to the New Year Festival which will be held on Sunday, April 22nd at at Kentucky Sri Lankan Buddhist Temple from 9:30 AM. There will be cultural and religious activities and food at this event. Each family is encouraged to bring some food to share with others. Since several activities have to be accommodated within a limited program time, you are kindly requested to be present on time. Your participation at this event is greatly appreciated.
