2023 Compassionate Projects

Dear compassionate and generous friends,

Thank you very much for your kindness and helping with our compassionate projects in Sri Lanka, USA, and some other countries in the year 2022. You have shown your great generosity, kindness, support by donating and contributing to these projects and events to make them successful. We deeply appreciated your contributions with much gratitude, blessings, merits, and prayers for you, your family, and all.

We plan to continue our compassionate projects in this year 2023.
We are expecting your generous support, contributions and kind participation to make these projects successful for the benefit of many in the society.
(You may donate whatever amount according to your ability)

2023 Compassionate Projects

  • Financial aid for Monks, Nuns, lower-income families, children, and schools in Sri Lanka and in Asia.
We offer scholarships and schools supplies to those in need. Your kindness and generosity would make a big change in someone's life. In the year 2022, we have offered many scholarships for young monks and children in need in Sri Lanka with the kind supports of many from locally and internationally.
  • Animal liberation program.
Your funds would go to saving cows and other animals from being slaughtered. They would then be donated to lower income families and village farmers in Sri Lanka to care for them (This would not only help the animals, but would help the poor families they are donated to). Other animals would be released to safe environments and cared for by compassionate people. We have liberated, released and given life to live for many animals. This compassionate project was conducted in many places and was very successful in Sri Lanka with the supports from many compassionate people around the world like you.
  • In addition, we are planning to conduct some of important events and projects in Sri Lanka in order to help the families and children in need due to recent economic crises, hardships.
    1. Donating useful stationaries worth of US$20, SGD$30 to children in need in low income families.
    2. Donating useful medicine and medical supplies to rural hospitals and homes those not get enough medicine, facilities and resources to treat patients and help those who are hospitalized and all others who need special care.
    3. Distributing day to day groceries such as rice bags, lentils, milk, breads, sugar and cooking oils to families in rural areas.

You may contribute to any of these initiatives via monetary donations by sending a check to the temple directly or via online transfer. You may log into our temple website for online donations (https://www.kmcbv.org/donate/)

Thank you so much for your kindness, generosity, contributions, and support. We deeply appreciate it with much blessings and prayers for you, your family and all.

“STUPA” Pagoda for Kentucky Meditation Peace Center & Buddhist Vihara!

Dear devotees, friends, and Sangha,

We kindly invite you all to take part in this meritorious deed to build a "STUPA" Pagoda for our temple (Kentucky Meditation Peace Center & Buddhist Vihara) at Louisville, Kentucky, USA !

We have been planning to situate a STUPA at our temple for a long time to the benefit the growing spiritual community in Kentucky, Tennessee and surrounding states in the USA. We are in need of a STUPA as well as other important sacred religious, and spiritual facilities in the temple (buddha shrine, meditation hall, home for Bodhi Tree and 28 Buddha, dining hall and living quarters for monks and nuns, area for lay meditation practitioners). Our Buddhist community is growing, however we still didn't collect enough funds, generous compassionate supports, sponsorships to start or complete some of these important projects.

We kindly request your generosity and supports for this meritorious deed to propagating the teaching of the Buddha. It would bring great merits and blessings for you, your family and all.

“Kathinanca Parikkaran
Vasadanancha Uttaman
Buddappamukhassa
Danan Dhammassa lekhanan
Khetta danancha sanghassa

  • Offering “Kathina Robe for Sangha(Monks & Nuns)”,
  • Offering Eightfold requisites for Sangha,
  • Offering living huts (living quarters) for Sangha,
  • Offering Dana(Dana - four types of valuables - foods, clothes, medicine and housing) and other necessities for three generations of monks and nuns including Buddha,
  • Shearing the Dhamma, writing and printing publications of Dhamma benefits for all,
  • Offering lands (Paddies) for the benefits of Sangha,
  • Building Buddha statues, Pagodas, Shrines, Housing (protection) for Bodhi tree and other Buddhists monuments and important things for veneration and benefits for many
  • Building toilets, lavatories for the benefits of Sangha.

These are the greatest meritorious deeds that one should perform in their life time to accrue lots of merits, blessings to make their life happy here and here after. Offering, donating, and building a “STUPA” Pagoda for temple, Maha Sangha is a meritorious deed, the merits that accrued from performing this kind of offerings, and taking part, participating, sponsoring, contributing for that cannot be destroy by anything, any forces and that merits would bless with all the success happiness, peace, and long healthy life for all here and here after and at the end to achieve the bliss of Nibbana(Enlightenment) free from all kinds of Samsaric Sufferings.

It is also believed that the merit, or the positive karma, gained by the offerings conducting this kind of meritorious deeds could reduce the negative effects of other minor bad karma one may have committed. One would be blessed with long life, happiness, good health, good complexion, physical strength, peace and wisdom in this life and many more lives to come until one attains Nirvana.

“Generosity brings happiness at every stage of its expression. We experience joy in forming the intention to be generous. We experience joy in the actual act of giving something. And we experience joy in remembering the fact that we have given”

“Material success or wealth is neutral in itself, neither good or evil. It become evil only when one is attached to it or to amassing it for selfish reasons. It is good when one is not attached to it, and readily use it selflessly to benefit others in need. Wealth should lead to generosity, or it will become a spiritual obstacle. If there is propensity for great generosity for great charity, the richer the merrier”

“Do your little bit of good where you are; it’s those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world”

“Here he/she is happy, hereafter he/she is happy; one who performs meritorious deeds is happy in both existences. Happily he/she exclaims: I have done meritorious deeds.” He/she is happier still when he/she is reborn in a higher world“
